Nutritional Connections PodcastEpisode 1: Nutrition & LoveFood + L'amor = Nutrition + Love. How does the way we nourish the human body effect and connect to every other facet of our lives? It wasn't until my youngest daughter developed an autoimmun...

It happens to everyone. Those turn-your-world-upside-down curve balls that seem to come out of nowhere. In the middle of these life-altering moments you can’t see how anything good could ever come of it. Until, one day you realize that even though it was almost imperceptible you grew, changed, and adapted to meet the moment. You discovered a purpose. A mission. That’s how my life’s purpose and Food + L’amor came to be. Food + L'amor = Nutrition + Love.

I am a mom of four hilarious, adorable, and amazing children. Two boys and two girls. When my youngest daughter, Miah, at the age of two developed an autoimmune disease my perspective and my life changed forever. It wasn't until I learned about Autoimmune Enteropathy (which effects the small intestines), that I came to understand that there is purpose in adversity. I also learned that I could choose to respond to any difficult circumstance with faith in God, integrity, and perseverance. This lesson has proved invaluable since life has thrown some other curve balls and I find myself a single mom.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition & Functional Wellness and an Applied Clinical Nutritionist certification. I have learned and applied the use of whole food supplements and the significant role which added support above and beyond diet play in mental, emotional, and physical health. I learned how to not just compartmentalize illness, but to look at the person as a whole. I learned that every system, organ, and cell in the body is interconnected. I learned that to support specific health concerns it must be approached through a variety of body systems.

My work isn’t over for Miah and has expanded to include a desire to serve and bless the lives of others, like you, who want to improve and take control of their health and life. Today Miah is healthy and thriving without the aid of any pharmaceutical drugs. She has healed and continues to heal, simply because I gave her the love and nutritional building blocks she needed. When nourished properly the body will do exactly what it was designed to do. I hope everyone who visits this site comes away with this as the predominant lesson. Things work themselves out when provided with the right Food and L'amor.

Welcome to our on-going journey of health and healing.
